1. Data controller

SPG DIGITAL LLC is the operator of Paws for Paws and the controller responsible for the personal information processed for the operation of the platform, except where a third-party service provider acts as an independent controller for its own processing.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use Paws for Paws, we may process information including:

• Your name, username, display name, profile information, avatar and account identifiers
• Your country or other location information that you choose to provide
• Messages, stories, Paws Club posts, comments, replies and other text you submit
• Photographs, profile images and other content you upload
• Information relating to Spots you create, save or purchase
• Payment status, transaction references and other payment-related information made available to us by a payment provider
• Technical information such as IP address, browser, device, request and server log data
• Information generated through your use of the Paws Club, including Pawprints, saved posts, notifications, reports, moderation records and blocking preferences, as well as information you provide when contacting us

We process information where necessary to operate and secure the platform, provide requested features and services, process or verify payments, publish submitted content, administer community functionality, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations and respond to inquiries.

3. Public content: Wall and Paws Club

Information that you choose to submit for public publication may be displayed publicly on the Paws for Paws Wall, in the Paws Club or elsewhere on the platform.

Depending on the feature used, public information may include a chosen name or username, country, profile image, photograph, story, message, Spot number, post, comment, reply, Pawprint-related information or other content you deliberately publish.

Because public areas of Paws for Paws are accessible internationally, published content may be viewed, copied or shared by people outside your country.

Please do not submit personal information, photographs or other content relating to another person unless you have the necessary rights, permission or other lawful basis to do so.

4. Payments

Payments on Paws for Paws may be processed by one or more third-party payment providers identified during the relevant checkout process.

A payment provider may process information required to complete a payment, including payment details, contact information, transaction information and fraud-prevention data, in accordance with its own privacy terms.

SPG DIGITAL LLC does not intend to receive or store complete payment card numbers where payment details are entered directly into a third-party payment provider's payment interface.

Payment providers may involve banks, card networks, digital wallet providers, fraud-prevention services or other parties where required to process the selected payment method.

5. Data storage and platform services through Supabase

Paws for Paws uses Supabase for database, authentication, storage and related technical services. Information processed through Supabase may include:

• Account, profile and authentication-related information
• Spot, story and country information
• Paws Club posts, comments, replies and community activity
• Uploaded photographs and profile images
• Payment and publication status
• Payment-provider identifiers, transaction references or related technical references
• Notifications, reports, moderation and blocking information
• Administrative, security and other technical information

6. Hosting through Vercel

Paws for Paws is hosted using Vercel.

When the website is accessed, technical information may be processed in order to deliver the website, maintain security, detect errors and ensure the proper operation of the service.

This information may include IP addresses, browser and device information, request information and technical server logs.

Translation and transactional email services

Where automatic story translation is enabled, Paws for Paws uses OpenAI to translate user-submitted story text after a successful Spot payment. The data sent for this purpose consists of the submitted story text; OpenAI processes it to produce the language versions used on the platform.

Paws for Paws uses Resend to send transactional confirmation emails after paid Spots are published. Resend processes the recipient email address and the confirmation content, which may include transaction status, Spot count, Spot numbers and a link to the published story.

These providers process the information only for the relevant translation or email-delivery workflow configured by Paws for Paws, subject to their applicable service and privacy terms.

7. Purposes of processing

Personal information may be processed for purposes including:

• Operating, maintaining and securing Paws for Paws
• Creating, displaying and managing Spots, stories and public profiles
• Providing accounts and Paws Club community features
• Processing, confirming and matching payments to relevant transactions or Spots
• Publishing and moderating user-submitted content
• Preventing abuse, spam, fraud, harassment and technical errors
• Responding to questions, privacy requests, reports and support inquiries
• Complying with applicable legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations

8. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, processing may take place:

• Where necessary to perform a contract with you or take requested steps before entering into a contract
• On the basis of legitimate interests in operating, protecting, moderating and improving a secure and functional platform, where those interests are not overridden by applicable rights
• On the basis of consent where consent is requested or legally required
• Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation

The exact legal basis depends on the processing activity, the feature used and the law applicable to the relevant user.

9. Service providers and international data processing

SPG DIGITAL LLC uses service providers that may operate internationally, including Supabase, Vercel and the payment provider or providers made available through the platform.

As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country in which you are located, including the United States or other jurisdictions.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, SPG DIGITAL LLC and/or the relevant service provider will rely on an available lawful transfer mechanism or other legally recognised safeguard.

10. Retention of information

Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for the continued operation of a requested feature, or where retention is required for legal, accounting, security or record-keeping purposes.

A central feature of Paws for Paws is that published Spots and their stories are intended to remain a long-term part of the Wall. Public Paws Club content may also remain available as part of community discussions unless removed in accordance with platform rules, a valid request or applicable law.

Information may be removed, anonymised or deleted where there is a valid legal or privacy request, content violates the Terms of Use, an account or feature is discontinued, continued storage is no longer necessary, or deletion is otherwise legally required.

Certain payment, transaction, moderation, security or accounting information may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary or legally required.

11. Your rights

Depending on the data protection law applicable to you, you may have rights including:

• Requesting access to your personal information
• Requesting correction of inaccurate information
• Requesting deletion of certain information
• Requesting restriction of processing
• Objecting to certain processing
• Requesting data portability where applicable
• Withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodging a complaint with an appropriate data protection authority

12. Security

SPG DIGITAL LLC uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or misuse.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee the absolute security of all transmitted or stored information.

13. Cookies and similar technologies

Paws for Paws currently does not intentionally use advertising or analytics cookies unless separately disclosed and, where required, consented to.

Technically necessary cookies, local storage or similar technologies may be used where required for authentication, security, user preferences and the proper operation of the website and Paws Club.

If optional analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanism will be updated as appropriate.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Paws for Paws, SPG DIGITAL LLC, the services used by the platform or applicable legal requirements change.

The most current version will be made available on this website. Where legally required, additional notice or consent will be provided.
